Hi, I’m Jen D., named after Julie Luongo’s friend she’s known before she could even read or write. She turned Julie on to Dorothy Parker and Laurie Colwin, two writers that made Julie think she could write me. So, I owe my life to Jen D. Had Julie never read Dorothy Parker, I might be a book about yarn, or a catalog of 80s hits, or a medical report on the side effects of some drug no one can pronounce. Whew. Dodged that bullet.
In the comments below, you can read where I’ve been, who I’ve met, and how I got into your hands. If you wouldn’t mind recording my whereabouts and passing me along, I’d appreciate it. My author is really curious about my journey. You can then leave me somewhere to catch a lift, send me away to a faraway land, or just pass me along to someone you know who you think would enjoy hosting a novel.
Also, if you’re a reader, please feel free to read me. If you like the story, go ahead and review it at Amazon. That would be really cool of you. Thanks!

Dorothy and Laurie would be proud to have helped inspire the author of such a fine novel!
And I’m proud to know her! When I originally read The Hard Way – way back when before it was a polished, published novel, my husband asked me as I sat reading about half way through what I thought of “Julie’s book”. I said “who?” True story. I honestly got so caught up with Lucy that I completely forgot that I was doing my friend a favor and reading her first attempt at a novel…. A lot of people think that they can write. Very few actually can – Julie is one of the lucky few, and I predict that everyone who reads this novel will love it, and all her future work as well!
Yeah, all of my future works, which I should be working on and not reading about The Hard Way’s travels…
