NOVEL TRAVELS
This site is a record of the travels of The Hard Way, 13 books that began a journey of epic proportions in Jan. 2008.
If you’re in possession of an early copy of The Hard Way that looks like the one below, please read on. [If you're here to find out about novelist Julie Luongo and her work, go to my blog.]
First, let me thank you for kindly hosting my book. The copy you have is one of the early printings my friend Matt had bound for me so I could send them to scads of writers for reviews. Turns out, it’s not easy to find the mailing addresses of famous authors. Weird. A neglected few books (13, to be exact) sat so long in a box that they developed a severe case of wanderlust. Being the benevolent sort, I sent them out into the world.
They were handed or mailed to responsible friends I thought would enjoy hosting The Hard Way. They were then abandoned in shops, left in train stations, mailed abroad, or otherwise shuffled along to Buffalo (or other cities and towns not in upstate New York).
Through intention and/or providence, you now have one of the 13 books I scattered to the winds. Your mission, if you choose to participate, is to help it find a new, exciting destination. Basically, think of this book as you would an unexpected friend of a friend who popped in on you. Maybe you’ll drop it off at a lovely coffee shop; or take it shopping and leave it in a dressing room; take it along with you on your travels; or possibly introduce it around and send it home with someone who likes surprise visitors.
Naturally, feel free to read The Hard Way. It’s an excellent novel and a quick read. So, enjoy, and if you love it as much as I know you will, please leave a review at Amazon.
And now, if you will, find your book’s name on the inside cover. [It's named after the first person who started this book on its journey with advice, a few bucks, and a warning to be polite.] Click the corresponding link below and let me know where you are, how you came to find the book, and what you intend to do with it. Whatever you can share, I’d appreciate. I worry about all of my books like a mother hen.
Please accept my sincerest thanks for participating, and don’t forget to sign the list of previous owners on the back cover before you send it along.
The Books:

Hey Jules,
This site looks awesome, nicely done!
What a very interesting site. I hope to be able to read the book one day….wonder if it has found its way to France yet?!
I received this book from Carolien, who received it from Jennifer. I am having a drawing on my blog next week to find out who will have a chance to read it next. I wish you much success.
